I've always had this need to create the things I imagine, but can't find in stores. Once I decide on something I'd like to fill a space with, but can't find it, I make it my mission to create it. It's always a challenge to bring these ideas to life, but always such a rewarding process from start to finish.
This process usually starts with me hunting down pieces for my home that carry the look I'm going for, but also serve some sort of utility. I've collected a number of hair accessories over the years and knew that I wanted to find a one-stop place where I could keep them all organized. Top drawer for beaded headbands, middle drawer for plain headbands and bottom drawer for pins and barrettes. #ocdproblems. When I saw this old chest, I knew I could change it into exactly what I needed. My excitement grew even further when I discovered the absolute cutest knobs from Hunt & Lane. I mean how adorable are these brass pineapple knobs?! I was obsessed and no other Anthropologie knob would do to complete this project.
So I got started. I love the look of stripes on just about everything and decided that black and white would add a nice contrast to the space. It's an easy DIY project that can make all the difference. Not to mention the fact that it'll now be your own one-of-a-kind piece. Can't beat that!
Happy Friday, everyone!
